Double page spread

Steranko inspired page spread for my layout class. Written by Suzanne after i did the drawing. Theres a weird overlap as it was two pages that got pasted together which sort of warps the planets in the background. Looks better as two seperate pages but reads better as one.

Before the Dawn

Four page story about a robot in search of a light. Looks terrible in photo because the pencil is so light. Ink is coming.

Story telling with Ken Steacy

First assignment was to do one page. A blank walks into a blank and meets a blank. Came out alright. Demands to be inked.

Tonal studies

This was weird. Wasnt sure if i would be able to get the glass and the water to work but i think its ok. Still doing some finishing touches but im happy enough with this to throw it out there.

Ninja turtle

Somebody asked so i drew it. Done with ink and brush.

Metal Man

The easiest guy to beat in Mega Man 2. Always thought this guy was cool but he looked stupid. I blame 8 bit graphics. Thought id do him as like a bio-organic dude. Much details. I tried to keep the shape fairly clean.

Lonely Robot

Really like this idea of the lonely robot wandering around looking lost. Thinking about doing a series of these as small paintings. Im sure theres a deep message in there about humanity and nature and alienation but thats not my department.

Sketches for page 3

Couple ideas for panels. Makes for good practice for perspective and composition.

Hand Painting

Im not much of a painter so this was a struggle. Took longer than it should have.

Drapery study

This one came out pretty good. Done in the same way as the portraits, white and black conte on gray paper.

My honored guest

The esteemed Mr. Michael Gillis.

Color theory

School related work. Using the same image with different color concepts. First one uses complimentary colors and the second one is monochromatic.

Page 2

So no ink yet but i wanted to get it out there. Im gonna use the sign post in the foreground for the title and credits of the story.... as soon as i come up with a title.

Page 1

Just finished inking this page for some of my own work. Feels good to have time to do my own thing. Had to scan it in two pieces, so it might not line up as well as it should. Words to follow.
