This is a super weird project for me but its great practice. Im actually really happy with the way the pages are turning out so I cant complain.

Barn Commission

Drawings done for my good friend Kathleen. Her family farm is gone and she wanted a couple of drawings showing the barn as she remembers it and the now vacant lot where it used to be.

William King and his son James. These two may hold the key to mankind's survival. Whoa.

My latest nightmare

Oh lord thats a lot of details. This is another image specifically for the kickstarter video for the Merciful. We'll start zoomed in on one of the patients and pull back to reveal the scale of the epidemic.

Might add a little more detail (what?!?) but it will serve its purpose as is.

Process

So this is how I work.

I didnt include the pencil sketch but it looks much like the first image here. I work out my perspective and block in the buildings to make sure the structure is working and the composition looks cool.

Then I come back in and punch a couple holes in the buildings  and add the mangled messy bits.

And finally the colors. I might add a photo of a real sky to punch up the drama in the back ground.

Couple designs for cards or even posters to promote the book. Also make for cool t shirts.

This is a shot of the main character from The Merciful bustin through the underbrush.

This is the rare variant version with a Canadian flag on his jacket. While the comic takes place in Canada, the country is now part of a north american union so the maple leaf is no where to be found.

I love this image and Im gonna put it on a t shirt.

Its got some despair, but lacks the hopelessness of the other one. So I don't know.

RuneQuest

My drawings are gonna be in the new RuneQuest handbook that comes out in May!

This is a big one for me. Fantasy role playing games are a big reason why I wanted to be an artist. I remember how the illustrations from the players handbook and the monstrous manual inspired my imagination and drew me in to these crazy worlds of monsters and wizards. I cant tell you how much it means to me to think that my drawings might do the same for others. I consider it a privilege to be a part of this and to have the chance to give back to something that has made such a huge impact on my life is truly an honor.

I did these drawings with my brother in mind and wish more than anything that I could share this with him. I know how proud he would be of me.

Politics...

So this is the next big project. Its gonna be a full on comic book about Yukon politics with the various politicians portrayed as heroes and villains. Crazy.

Apparently when its all said and done, 1000 copies of this are going out. Way crazy.
